Short explanations, Chapter VIII

The additive arrow of time

RSI holds that time runs one way because mechanical friction on matter only accumulates and can never be undone.

In standard physics, the one-way flow of time is attributed to entropy, the statistical tendency of systems to move from order to disorder. Because the core equations of physics work the same forward or backward, the march of time is treated as a probability rather than a law.

RSI rejects this symmetry as a chalkboard illusion. In RSI, the arrow of time is a structural absolute set by the irreversibility of friction. Every beat of the 10⁴³ Hz pulse of the Eternal Consonance grinds against the matter-knot. A gear cannot un-wear its teeth, and no event, once it has happened under the steady weight of the 0.73 N universal clamp, can be undone. An equation can be reversed, but the accumulated record of events cannot. A single knot does not age; the record of what happens to knots does.

The theory applies this to the cosmos. The forward arrow is the additive record of the work the medium performs on matter. That record is wiped clean only when a knot reaches its failure point and unzips at the Still Core.
