Short explanations, Chapter VIII

The quantum potential as field pressure

RSI interprets the quantum potential Q as the internal pressure of the Eternal Consonance, the local application of its 0.73 N tension.

Q = −(ℏ² / 2m)(∇²√ρ / √ρ)

The Madelung translation produces one extra term, the quantum potential Q. RSI treats it as the most important element of the translation. In standard quantum mechanics, Q is seen as a troubling non-local force that pushes a particle so it obeys statistical distributions, with no defined physical mechanism.

In RSI, Q is no longer a mathematical ghost. In ordinary hydrodynamics, the equivalent term is the internal pressure of a fluid, and it depends entirely on how density varies through space. The theory holds that Q is the structural stiffness of the Eternal Consonance, the local application of its 0.73 N baseline tension. Where the knot-density of the medium changes, it exerts a real hydrostatic pressure on the matter-knot and steers its path.

Taken together with the vortex-pump account, RSI concludes that the Aharonov-Bohm effect is evidence for a substantial vacuum. The electron is never alone in a void. It is always coupled to the hidden currents of the medium.
