Short explanations, Chapter III

Singular contiguity

Because the Eternal Consonance has no gaps, RSI holds that it acts like a perfect superfluid, which produces friction only around matter-knots.

The first property RSI assigns to the Eternal Consonance is singular contiguity. In its Rest-State, the medium has no gaps, no empty space, and no porosity. It is perfectly continuous from end to end.

Because of this, the theory holds that the medium acts like a perfect superfluid. It has zero kinematic viscosity, meaning it offers no internal resistance to flow. It does not drag against itself. RSI gives this as the reason planetary orbits do not decay and light can travel billions of light years.

Friction, in this account, appears only under one condition. It arises when the continuous geometry of the medium is forced to cross its own path, forming a topological knot. That knot is then forced to grind against the surrounding field. Ordinary space is frictionless. Matter is where the medium rubs.
