The Thermodynamic Mirror
RSI pairs the Still Core and the Outer Rim as mirror resolution zones that let the universe avoid heat death.
Standard entropy models predict a heat death, a final state in which usable energy is exhausted. In RSI, the two resolution zones act as thermodynamic mirrors instead.
The Outer Rim resolves the work of the outward Exhale into potential energy. The Still Core resolves the form of matter into baseline potential. With resolution at both the extreme center and the extreme edge, the universe works as a Steady-State Oscillator. Spent knots at the edge are recycled into the Inhale currents. The engine never runs dry, and the field's 0.73 N tension never runs down; measured locally it never changes, while the tightness of the medium's folding breathes over the cycle (Chapter VI).
RSI holds that the same pattern repeats at smaller scales. A galactic black hole acts as a local sink that cleanses the nearby field and ejects washed energy as relativistic jets. The Universal Still Core works by the same fractal mechanics. It is the final Return Valve of the toroidal engine, where the strain of existence is released back into the calm of the Rest-State.
