Where matter is born

Where the outward exhale meets the returning inhale, the medium cannot pass through itself. It twists into a knot, and RSI holds that this knot is matter.

In a torus, the outward exhale and the inward inhale are not separate flows. They are the same field completing one circuit. Somewhere along that circuit, the flow traveling outward must turn and become the flow traveling inward. RSI describes this meeting place as the birthplace of matter.

At that point the smooth, laminar flow breaks. The field suddenly finds itself trying to go two ways at once. A continuous medium cannot split, cannot stop, and cannot pass through itself. So it does the only thing an unbroken elastic field can do: it twists. The current folds, the fold tightens, and the energy caught between the opposing flows spirals inward, loops back, and closes. "The Eternal Consonance ties a knot in itself."

In RSI, that knot is matter, all of it. Every atom, every particle, every grain of every planet, and every cell of every living thing is the same event: the place where the field's circulation met itself, could not resolve the meeting smoothly, and folded into a lasting tangle.

The conclusion is that nothing material is separate from the medium. We are not made of some other substance living inside the Eternal Consonance. We are made of it. In the narrative's words, we are "the turbulence at the turning point of a cosmic breath."
